Elder Care
In the US we have a rather serious problem brewing as our population ages, and it is a problem we are going to have to face, as it could easily bankrupt our nation. Not to mention the families of all the elder seniors which are going to need care. We also have a shortage of nurses and it's only going to get worse, experts note.
In the United States 25% of the folks will be over age sixty by 2050, but in China the percentage will be quite a bit higher and it rising every year. Currently, China is at nearly 20% and in the US we are at 15%, but in 2050 the Chinese figure is 32% and it is what many call a demographic time bomb.
Both in the US and China we are barely able to handle the needs and both nations are training nurses and rapidly building up infrastructure to handle this aging demographic. Caring for the older and elderly poor will become a major national priority and one challenge that will not be easily met.
John Nesbit has mentioned this his works, and so too has Ken Dychwald, and Robert Shapiro who wrote the book "FutureCast" and this problem is not going away no matter what anyone says, say these well-known and respected authors of the coming demographic population peril that will plague the world's top super powers.
Worse, there are also problems concerning all the chain smokers in China. So whereas, they might not live as long, thus, helping the burden of the length of time these elders will need care, they will also not be able to help themselves much as they will be dragged down with lung, heart, and respiratory issues. Please consider all this.
